I like it, even if the size is small (23cms) and it will be probably never a champion. It's the first bloom.

That is nice Fabrice. I'd be happy with it. It is certainly better than my first flowering. Nice colouring and full shape.

If not for the colour or those great broad petals, keep it for that funny maze pattern in the dorsal. I haven't seen that before, very intriguing.

I've never seen a dorsal sepal like that on a roth before. What parent do you think that characteristic came from?

That's a keeper:clap:

Intense Fabrice! very interesting dorsal. If the picture is true, 'Green Valley' has a normal striped dorsal Rick

UPDATE I found 'Butterfly' and it's the same as 'GV' But both have a lot of color between the major veins.

Yes, The dorsal is very original for a roth and I keep this plant only for that.

For the name of parents, there are many doubts.
According to a friend, It would be rather a seedling from a wild colony. This kind of dorsal would be more characteristic.

But we will never know the truth...:p

Slipperking, is it possible for you to add photos of GV and Butterfly please? Just to see what is probably impossible, even if genetic is sometimes mysterious...

Ok Thanks!

I think there's also "Dou Fong" in this book.
I have GV X Dou Fong in bloom (photos tomorrow) from Sam and it's maybe the same thing. The member Sanderianum told us it was not possible to have roths with Dou fong like parents.
I don't know what are the parents for mine but it's awesome.:)

OK, I photographed the PICs from the book. I tried to enlarge individual flowers of each but they're very grainy.

Thank you!

First, with the 2 pics of GV, we could believe it's not the same plant because the flowers are very different...

After, Dou Fang is a wonderful collect roth, maybe better than Mont Millais.

Butterfly is also nice and seems to be similar to "Dou Fong".

But definitively, my roth is not from GV X Butterfly.:(
