Not the best Paphiopedilum spicerianum I have ever seen, but somehow I like it (maybe because it's mine :))

I have four plants I got from SE Asia by the way of Hawaii advertised as "wide leafed" spicerianums. The bases are solid purple and it extends well up the leaves. It will be interesting to see how "spicerie" they really are!
