I think I was spoiled having a Paph. cerveranum as my first Paph since it was in such a rush to open its flower. My little ciliolare, on the other hand, is taking its sweet time to open its first bloom (it was shipped to me with a much developed spike/bud already, so no kudos to me), the fact that I apparently let it dry a bit to much caused it to stall for a day or two as well.

I've no idea how long it'll take for it to open, but I look forward to it!

My second patience trying Paph bloom, will probably be my little superbiens that has come this "far":

It has grown well with no apparent stalling, sulking etc. but I suppose it's time for that now. ;)

The wait on your superbiens will be roughly around 4-5 months mark. Perhaps more.

Once you think you have the whole patience thing under control, you need to get yourself a Paph. malipoense.
I have one, it wasn't planned since I don't like these "toilette Paphs" as I call them, but it was a bonus plant I got when I ordered some more Paphs a little while ago.

But that's good to know, then I can enjoy its gorgeous foliage for a while longer before it decides to bloom (which I hope it won't do for a long, long time). :D

Just a wee bit of an update, mostly on the superbiens since Mr ciliolare has already opened its bud a loooong time ago.

I now have five Paphs working on buds (I had six, but my acmodontum blasted its bud unfortunately) but the wardii's bud is too low to take any decent pictures of, so you'll have to wait for it.

The ones in bud (except the wardii) are:

Mr. superbiens (it has gotten quite far since the last picture of it, yes?):

Mr. Maudiae Vinicolor 'Schwarze Madonna' (the bud is seriously DARK):

Mr. purpuratum, which started about a week or two after Mr. superbiens and Mr. Maudiae:

And, finally, my little gratrixianum that's planning on going for two flowers (I hope it'll be able to pull it off), although only one of the buds is showing in the picture:

I have a larger size paph malipoense that I am impatiently waiting to do something, and I bought two other smaller ones from hausermanns that were on sale, how could I pass up small ones for only 10 bucks each?? Maybe I'm thinking the more I buy the faster they will open haha.... I doubt it! Now I have three malipoense but no flowers yet
