Purchased this several years ago as a small seedling from Fox Valley at the Chicagoland Orchid Fest. It is niveum x adductum "Black Top". It tried to bloom for the first time last year, but the spike was looping around as it extended and I broke it trying to fix the problem. This year it has 2 flowers, but I believe it is capable of more in the future. The spread of the flower is 13 cm and the plant has three growths, the largest having a leaf span of about 10 inches. Nice turnout!

Great that it made another spike in a year after that first one was broken.
Maybe this might be a easy bloomer?

Nice clone Mike. Hang on to it, I sure this is a rare hybrid in collections these days. I found it to be difficult at best.

There's no doubt this hybrid is a slow grower. It took us almost five years out of flask to flower the first one. As far as color, there's a range from very light to dark, and I'd put Mike's about mid-way. Here's a photo a slightly darker one to flower (for us) a couple of years ago.
