Yay besseae hybrids! I'm surprised about the color. Has it been very hot there?

Not terribly. This isn't the brightest colored clone I've seen, but I'm not sure the camera / photo captured it very well, either. So that might explain it.

I grow under lights, and as these taller spikes grow, I'm sure the buds get exposed to slightly higher ambient temperatures as they approach the fluorescent tubes.

I noticed on my Eric Young flavum, the division that grew its spike into the bulbs (I wasn't paying attention to it) has produced light colored flowers, whereas another division of the same plant that was on the bottom shelf in shadier conditions and further from the bulbs has produced much more colorful blooms.
