Or so it is labelled. I've had it for a fairly long time, although this is the first time I have noticed it blooming. Took 5 flowers on the spike before I realized what it was. Evidently this one is rare and expensive, but if I recall correctly, it just sort of showed up one day with some other divisions. I don't remember paying anything for it...

Got one of these from Taylor Orchids a few years back, so I'd guess that was the source of yours as well, given your proximity. Not sure from a taxonomic standpoint whether it's currently considered a valid species, but it was described in the Orchid Digest by Robert (Drorchid).
 
Interesting. Is it a natural hybrid or a true species? Based on this photo, it looks like it's got some sargentianum/lindleyanum in it, or is in the same group of phrags.

It's a cute flower, but if it's expensive, it's probably not something I'd spend the money on. Good for you for acquiring something so rare!
 
There has been some debate. From what I have read, many people believed it was a natural hybrid, but chromosome counting indicates otherwise. I am leaning towards species.
