One of our crosses: Phrag. Cahaba Cherokee Sunset (3N) (besseae 'Rob's Choice' AM/AOS (4N) x exstaminodium 'Extraordinary), so it has a double dose of Phrag besseae:

This information was provided by Terry Rosborough, who bloomed this particular seedling (and it was the first seedling to bloom from this cross):

In March, 2012, Erythrone posted the first Slippertalk picture of besseae var flava ‘Phyllis’ x exstaminodium ‘Wotan’ AM/AOS, registered by ORCHIDbabies as Cahaba Cherokee Sunset in July, 2011.

This current posting is of a first bloom of the hybrid made by Orchids Limited with a non-flavum besseae. Both parents have been posted on Slippertalk before by Robert-Jan Quene (Drorchid) from Orchids Limited.

warscewiczii var extaminodium ‘Extraordinary’ (as Robert would see this called). The picture of the exstaminodium is several posts down in the chain.

Jerry Fischer, Jason Fischer, and Robert had guesses about what this cross would look like. Some thought the double dose of besseae would create a hybrid like Fischer’s Fire (Super Rubies x besseae).

Others thought the petals would be more horizontal, which proved correct. Robert thought the flower, which is 14 cm NS horizontal would be bigger, but maybe it will be on subsequent bloomings.

Only one flower was produced and the spike was relatively short. The plant has 6 leaves, each leaf about 14 cm NS and about 5 cm wide. The flower dropped12 days after being fully open.

Interesting. I love, as I said in my post about the previous flower, learning about your breeding intentions, hopes, results.
I'm curious, though, as an aside, about your referrals to yourself, Robert, as "Robert." It made me scroll back up to make sure it was really a post by you!

Thanks Chris, Yes the post was by me (Robert) but Ross provided me with the information below the photo (that is why he was referring to Robert).

I'm confused. Is the bloom Cahaba Cherokee Sunset x (Rob's Choice x extaminodium)? Otherwise how is there a double dose of besseae?

No this IS Phrag. Cahaba Cherokee Sunset, but instead of using a regular (2N) besseae we used a 4N besseae and also we used a red besseae. When Orchidbabies originally made the cross they used the flavum form.
