I always like dalessandroi more than besseae
Very intense color . congratulation , what is the leaf span of this seedling?

Thanks a lot!
I am very happy with this plant.
I have got about half a dozen true dals over the years and this one is the one having a color closer to true red. I already crossed it with a very vigorous one. I am going to treat some of the flasks to see if we can get a big 4N and vigorous monster.
Hien the LS of this seedlng is about 35cm, about 1/2 of a mature plant.
The clonal name is "Stalin" for two reasons... the first one is because Stalin is the name of the friend who sent it to me... and the second one is because it is quite red :rollhappy:

to the sides of the dorsal.

Ah, I hope I am not being too picky. Those are actually petals. The sepals are the outer part seen before the bud opens. As you may know most orchids have three, a dorsal and two lateral. But slippers are special in having only two, a dorsal and a ventral(synsepal).

...which is actually two sepals fused.
