What do you think of this one? Second flower in first flowering.

Sorry, I thought I wrote Desormes in the title, but obviously not.

I agree! I wonder if it can improve in shape. I have another one just as funky. I'll give it some time. :)

Tom Kalina told me that he doesn't know for sure how good a slipper will be until the third blooming, so do wait and see. The color is superb.

Phrag Desormes = Hanne Popow x Sorcerer's Aprrentice. This is not the cross, but rather Desormes x something, most likely x Waunakee Sunset. I will try to look up the cross by number later.

I got that plant and another one from J.P. Faust. They look very much like the pictures I have of his Desormes but those are much better than mine. I still hope that my two clones will get better in time. It's no mistake so far as I know. They are #120 and 178 of J.P.'s collection. One was supposed to have a white flower and the other a pink one. But both turned out pink. :p

It grows well enough to me and the foliage is nice and strong though medium in size. It does resemble Hanne Popow.
One thing though, I decided to give all my plants a little more fertilizer. I've always been skimpy with no more than 130 ppm. I'm going to give them over 200 ppm once a week for the rest of the summer and see what happens.

Hi! Michel, one was not supposed, but had a chance or the potential to be white…. Little difference!
I did made two different cross of Desormes both using Sorcerer’s Apprentice as pod parent a green one and a red one and 2 white Hanna Popow as pollen.
Expecting different coloration in the progeny, I was very please to see than some of them turn out as almost white but many of them were pinkish to deep pink…
