At least that's what the tag says. It doesn't look like the one I saw a year or so ago, but that wasn't a very good one. Ecua-Bess is ecuadorense x besseae (ecuadorense is a variety of pearcei)

Looks probable to me Dot. Theoretically you can get the whole spectrum between the two parents. If there are specific characteristics you are looking for, self it, flower out all of the progeny and select those with the desired characteristics and then breed those on.
 
Welcome to the Forum Fawkes. Maybe you should start a new post telling us who you are and what kind of orchids you like.

I'm not really into breeding, but I saw this plant at Porter's Orchids the other day, and although the flower is small-ish, the color is an unusual red and quite bright and pretty. I didn't really quite capture it. But it's mine now, and I'll probably try again.
