Color is good this year but I don't remember the petals margins being as rippled as they are. Is this a common trait for Eric Young?

Is this the first bloom of the season? I wonder if there was
some trauma to the bud as it was developing or just one
of those things that happen sometimes. The flower does

Grand Chupacabra
The curled, rippled petals is pretty common in this hybrid. It's usually only the exceptional clones that have really flat petals. Interesting that it's changed so much between bloomings.
