A little distorted and maybe not quite all the way open/formed. But notice the faint, but definitely there, fenestrations, like in besseae. I didn't realize this until Dr. Guido Braem pointed it out.

Lovely. I like this species. I'm assuming this is fragrant like schlimii, right?

I'd love to have one, but of course, like all of the really nice plants, it's a little pricey.

Anyway, I'm sure the flowers will improve over time.

Dot, at least you have one and it will improve with age. The colors are
just beautiful and it's a hairy lil' thing too. I wish I had one.

Please explain fenesrations. I'm not familiar with the word relating to orchids.

What about the plant, size, number of leads? The reason for asking is that I have a couple minute seedlings, one which starts a new growt. No flower yet though...

It's a fancy word for windows -- those translucent panels you see on the side of besseae's pouch, especially. I had to look it up, also, when I first heard it.

Your not the only one... All I can say is that no matter how long you've been with this addiction (orchid growing) there is always something new to learn

They don't seem as translucent as besseae windows. Maybe you can do a black out pic and shine a flash light through?

Is this an OL plant? (last I heard they were all from 1 plant).

I wouldn't mind getting some pollen to try and breed these. My second bloom just opened up.

1st blooms on this species frequently seem off. Successive blooms on the same spike are often better.

it has great potentiel. I'd be happy with a flowering fischerii.
Does schlimii also has those "windows"?
