Shape is very sensitive to temperature when opening.
For us last autumn was cool and they looked stupendous. This year autumn was warmer and the exact same plants did not look so good.
Both kovachii and besseae flower quality are highly sensitive to temp, so not a big surprise.
The seedlings in compots big seller for us. Both parents are much superior to the original parents that we used, so we will see!

John, what would you say is the target temp to produce nice flowers on besseae and its hybrids, and also the lower threshold where reducing temps further has little added benefit? I grow in an air-conditioned room and can make the temps whatever I want them to be. ;-) It's one of my secrets for getting consistently nice flowers. I usually don't go above 75 when something is blooming.
