Well Rick ,you were right , it is not as dark as yours was pictured due to warmer blooming time ?? Also the petals twisted ...went and looked back at your pix, doesn't look the same but I have seen orchids do this before..hoping it will bloom in cooler times next time.

Will be interesting to see your blooms Dot....these blooms look like my other Inti's Tears. Yes, it is huge !

The spike is up above the foliage but it'll probably be next week before a bud opens. I wonder why your plant's spike is so short, and which growth-type is typical?

Dot, my spike elongated about 6 inches past the tip of the longest upright leaf..an average spike length .2 blooms are still on at the tip end and a 3rd bud showing.
 
OK ladies I better chime in here! The colors will be more earthy in the summer heat/brighter light. Add a bit of Epson salt to your watering esp. in the fall/winter for even stronger colors.
(PS. Gilda, the clonal name is 'Red Daggers')
When well established the spikes will make in upwards of 7 seven flowers/spike

Here is mine blooming now too.
