Ooooo twisty petals and the color is scrumptious.
Where do come across these beauties?????? Perhaps I should
have said red, but on my monitor the color looks a dark pink
shading to red on the petals.

In truth, it is really a deep rose. The yellow-orange underlay make it look red.
 
That is drop dead gorgeous!!!
I'm hoping mine will bloom this year too and turn out as lovely as yours!

I'm not a Phrag-lover specifically, but this one is really eye-catcher. I think, i should reorganise my Slipperidentity.
It is that grey thing, crushed limestone or diatomite on the surface of the potting mix?

My mix is composed of orchiata bark, diatomite and either growstones or sponge rock. I think what you are seeing is diatomite.
