These aren't the prettiest of flowers, but a unique species with no pouch!

My plants of lindenii always self pollinate, please let us know if yours also do it.

I just cut off the spike as the flowers were drying so I don't know for sure. But since they didn't fall off, I assume it did self pollinate.

I think these are neat, and definitely unique. Not quite my cup o' tea, but over the summer I got to see a small group of them in bloom all at the same time. It was interesting to say the least. I was surprised at how compact they are.

It was plagued with erwinia for the first couple of years, but now it seems to be coming around.

Rick, I have a Phrag. warscewiczianum that has the same persistent problem. Just when a growth starts getting decent size, it gets erwinia at the base and ends up killing the growth. It's strange how some plants are very susceptible. Hopefully mine will grow out of it too. My other warscewiczianum has never had that problem.

My son loves plants. But, of course, he's got to be different from me. He loves succulents and all around weird plants, but hates orchids. There is only 1 orchid he has ever wanted....P. lindenii.

They always remind me of Gandolf or Dumbledore. Old men with beards :)
Congrats on your flowering.
