Yay besseae hybrids! Was that a compot or a multigrowth plant?
Multigrowth Eric and this plant wasn't always so healthy. It must be from the time of the original cross, late 90's I think-Orchid Zone when Terry was still active.
This plant was passed around between my friend Jay and I trying to grow the thing. It was established besseae couldn't be grown in Houston nor any of its primary hybrids. Not until I put it in S/H did it take off.
I'll have to check on the cross.

Really, really nice :) I have one in bloom right now but it put out a ridiculously long inflorescence so it has sit in window rather than under lights as it's too tall now.

gorgeous. Living just a few hours away from Houston, I'm sure glad that we can grow besseae and its hybrids in the South....some of my favorite slippers.

This one is quite nice and I've seen some really ugly ones.
The color is just right.
*keep me in mind if you ever decide to divide that lovely.
Your name is on a tag, in the pot.
That is a very nice example of how dark the flowers can get.

My plants are quite a bit lighter.

Can you share the names of plant parents?

This is an old Orchid Zone cross as mentioned, the parents are; sarg 'Red Airow(?)' X besseae 'Eat My Dust' I can't really read the sarg clonal name very well but maybe John C, if he see this post can look into the records for you. The cross number is Z3585
