This one greeted me upon entering the GH this morning!
Mystique = Beauport x Barbara LeAnn, which means I don't see any sargentianum but sure do see schlimi, fischeri & besseae!
This is a hard one to get color accuracy on, in regular light no pink is coming thru, it's a dark cranberry/marroonish red. We've been in an 80 degree heatwave for several days, could it have gotten dark? :p

Really cute! I think the colour in the picture, is more accurate on my new little Phrag, but my camera insists to make it too red instead... We should switch!

You are lucky, that sure is a nice one. I really like the schlimii /fischeri influenced form. That color is amazing. I hope to see more of these. Where did you get this cross? I do see sargentianum. Not in the form but in those spots in the pouch. Sargentianum seems to leave those spots generations away.

Beautiful, Rose.

Hot weather make red Phrags darker? In my experience, cooler weather makes Phrag colors deeper and more intense.

Thanks guys! It's definitely a keeper! I too love the schlim/fischeri influence!

Chuck Acker, had a sale of sales back in 2007, they were seedlings ready to come out of the 2"pots, $6 each when you purchased a minimum of 10 & he let me mix & match! This is probably the 3rd blooming now, might be as good as it gets!

Beautiful, Rose.

Right! All though there are worse heat waves than the 80's, it's unusual the end of Sept/early Oct to have a continued string of them!

Yay besseae hybrids!
but it sounds like i missed a great sale. :(
Dang! That's one of the nices red Phrags I've seen in my tenture at ST.
It's not a red.

Dang!!!!!!!!!!
What a beauty!

Wow! First, she's learning new English words; now she's learning the slang! :p

This is true, hot weather will make the bloom stressed from lack of moisture and evaporation.
