It's a fantastic plant and flower, but I'll probably end up selling or trading it. It's not really my cup o' tea.

Not as much kovachii influence as you'd like to see? I believe Glen Decker said don't be quick to judge a kovachii X, give it 3 bloomings, they really need time to mature.

I'm definitely planning on keeping it long enough for it to bloom once more.

However, I'm just not very impressed with the color. I've got enough bubble gum pink flowers in my collection already between the tillandsias, schlimii and delenatii hybrids. I was honestly thinking the coloration would be in the orange-red range or maybe even purple. Heck, I'd even be fine with the bubble gum if the opening of the lip and staminode had some color to them (yellow), but instead it's just a pale cream at best.

It's not that I hate the flower, in fact I think it's great. It's just that I've got limited space and I know that there are tons of other great kovachii hybrids out there that are more to my liking in terms of shape and color.

The longifolium in the Eric Young plus the natural kovachii color make the paleness almost a guarantee. There are no purple crosses yet but the Gen 2 hybrids (Pk x(Pk x schlimii)0 and (schlimii x(Pk x schlimii)) are out and may give this result. Soon you we will be trading these crosses at will. :)

Mmmm unless they have heavy doze of besseae, chances of getting orange-red flower is pretty slim. So far only Fritz Scomburg/Peruflora Cecilia seem to have orange-red flower, but even that is only 25% chance. most turn out to be purple red or pinkish red. So you really have to buy a batch see which ones turn out to be the keeper. :)
