Bought from Ecuagenera in June. I know (?) I posted some other photos a month or so ago but cannot find that Post. This new bloom seems better and a bit darker coloured than the earlier ones which were on the plant when I got it in June. Daily heavy watering, in Orchiata bark since I got it. Its in my cool section.

Aawww man, this is on my top 3 favorite phrag species, this is a perfect richteri!!!

Beautiful! Are the scapes on these always shorter than the foliage? Not a knock, just curious.

While the spikes might not get to be as long as the leaves, they certainly get much longer than this one is at present. There was one with the plant when I got it in June that was about 18" long. It might have grown further if it hadn't done all that travelling at that point. And the present spike was present at that time too, so I'm really pleased that it managed to keep growing, once it got past the trauma of crossing the Atlantic.

To my dismay I discovered the day after shooting that I had left the ISO at 250 from a shot outside the day before. So if anything the colours could be slightly punchier. It certainly has improved compared with the earlier blooms that it either came with or that opened shortly after arrival. I'm really pleased with it.
