This is a plant that I received as a gift over 12 years ago! Never did anything, so I'm wondering if its current bloom can be credited to K-lite. It's certainly taken off in its growth the last 2 years. Too bad its not schlimii. My guess is schlimii x pearcei (or ecuadorense or pearcei).

What's that bush blooming in front of it?

Eric I would say "its time to make room for a better plant"

The bush is a bridal wreath Spirea, the kind with double flowers. Yeah, the plant is a real disappointment, especially after all these years.

I'll take it! :D I like it but when you're expecting a species and grow it for a very long time, it is pretty disapointing.

Congratulations on the bloom. The white flowering shrub is an old variety of spiraea . Some people refer to it as bridle wreath spiraea .

Later blooms of this looked better, although one had a split synsepal. But...I think I figured out what this must be. Many years ago I had a bunch of Carol Kanzer seedlings that I bloomed out...did a lot of trading with them. I got this plant from a friend of mine who sent me a load of plants after he got divorced. This must have been a Carol Kanzer I sent him, but at some point he must have just relabeled it "schlimii".

No....a friend from orchid boards I was on maybe 15-20 years ago or so...the OLD and Harvey Brenneisse's short lived slipper board. I got those plants from him easily 10 years ago or more.
