This is a first bloom for this plant. The first mature growth did not bloom. The flower is large, about 15 cm. The plant is relatively large as well with a "wing span" of 26 inches. Suzanne Decker is kovachii X Cape Sunset. The bloom has been open for five days so I hope it "holds" so that the petals do not reflex.

Very nice Chuck. Now I have to measure the ''wing span'' of my own Suzanne.

Yay besseae hybrids! :D good color. I hope these become common as besseae hybrids soon.
They sure seem easy to grow, so maybe they will be as common. Some of them like this plant do get pretty big.
The down side might be fewer flower although this one has at least two more buds coming.

I have that is 5 growths w/o any effort to bloom! I only got it because a friend of mine here in Houston bloomed one and got an AM on it! If she could do it I could right?.....NOT yet! BTW Beautiful!

Very nice!! What is the plant potted in?

For a second I thought the flower doesn't have a staminode! It's so light in color, so special :)

This is my fave overall kavachii cross so far, and your clone is no exception. Tied for first with Phrag. Frank Smith. :)

I don't find the seedlings easy but once a plant is mature they're pretty hardy. Hint buy BS plants. :D Once they get big I find they also produce more blooms.
