Nice! Perhaps this is a dumb question, but why is it orange? Wouldn't the schlimii make it white or pink? It looks like a besseae hybrid. ecuadorense is not much different than pearcei, and that primary (Carol Kanzer) is pale pink to almost white.

There is a yellow band that runs down the center of the petals, and the interior of the pouch is yellow -- these all blend visually with the pinks and give the flower an orangish look.Sorry guys but this flower is pink on my monitor

I know I'm still new to Phrags, but the two pictures posted look very much like a besseae hybrid. Here's a link to the photo from Woodstream, which I think is the one that bcostello was referring to http://www.woodstreamorchids.com/phrtpink1.html Anyone notice a difference? The shape and colour are completely different. I've never seen a schlimii primary with flat petals, like the ones in this post. And, I don't think it's my monitor - every other picture on this forum has come out 'correct' for me.
