This one seems to get better and redder as the plant "grows up." Waunakee Sunset is Barbara LeAnn x besseae.

It should be illegal for you to own that plant (and legal for me to take possession).

Dot... Love your pics... are you using a 2 or 3 light setup? My guess is One from rear and above subject and one from front of subject? What is your light setup? I'd love to play to see if I can come up with something similar. Thanks!!!

Great color and nice shape!!! Is it a rather small bloom? Jean
Yes -- it's about 2.5" NS.
It's a beauty, Dot - and well photographed. See you in Madison Heights!
Thanks -- yes, I hope I can get there this year. New place for the show -- I hope it works out well for vendors and orchidists!

Thanks -- actually only one light: the sun. Which was covered with clouds. I made the photo in my greenhouse. When I get my photo-corner all set up, I'll photograph it and post it in my greenhouse thread. But right now, I'm just using a piece of black velvet as a background and my camera is on a tripod. Nothing fancy at all.

Thanks everyone!

Hi Dot,

We, too, are somewhat apprehensive about the new location, but I'm sure the MOS will do it's best to draw people to the show. FYI- I'll be bringing two different strains of Waunakee Sunset seedlings to the show - one made with our largest red besseae `Red Giant' and a dark red Barbara LeAnn, and one using a Barbara LeAnn made with besseae fma flavum bred to our best besseae flavum `Fox Croft #1', hoping here for a flavum WS. Glad the Palm Sunday show is in April this year, i.e I'm sick of winter:mad:
