This is supposedly Waunakee Sunset. The cross is Barbara Leann 'Hot Hot Hot' x besseae 'Rob's Choice' but to me it doesn't look like it. It is from Orchids Limited. Anybody else bloom one? Looks more like Hanne Popow x schlimii or something similar.

I agree. It certainly looks like it's mislabelled. However, instead of a wrong label finding it's way into the pot, I wonder if it's actually a selfing of Barbara Leann? When selfing a primary hybrid you will get a variety of forms as the genes of each original species parent are redistributed unevenly to the offspring. I can't see besseae 'Rob's Choice' being a direct parent of that. 'Rob's Choice' is pretty special and it's offspring are very distinctive.

IMO it's probably a Waunakee Sunset. It's well within the range of colours and shapes I've seen with this cross, though I would agree it's not the result one would hope for. Why don't you communicate with O.L. to have their view?

I wouldn't doubt it could be Barbara Leann x self. I agree with your assessment of 'Rob's Choice' and would have thought it would have really have a lot of influence but I see none. I sent them the photo and asked them about the possible mislabeling. I noticed it is no longer listed on their website.

I had this cross and bloomed it and OL is now almost positive that the flask got labeled incorrectly. They think it has to be Hanne Popow. Mine is blooming now for the second time with a tall and branching spike and it is fragrant. So, schlimii crept in there instead of Barbara LeAnn.

The more I think about it, the more I agree with JohnM. Shows how much I know!

I wrote Orchids Limited and Jason said he'd either send me a Waunakee Sunset or give me a credit. He said they thought it was Hanne Popow. I wouldn't be surprised if it was schlimii x fischeri. I just don't any besseae influence.

I've never met a Hanne Popow w/out a rose/raspberry fragrance. Yhat's a give-away tip to me.
Peoples are very different when it come to fragrant sensitivity (or at least to certain smell) When someone says certain flower has no fragrance, it could be that it is so faint that it is undetectable.
At certain time during the day, I detect fragrance from psychopsis, even the phrag leaves & root have a distinct smell.
