First 2 pictures about 10 days ago. Last 2 are from 3 days ago. Bad luck the 1st flower of the pics last only 5 days...the new one is already 6 days and looking good. El niño here makes things really hot maybe thats why the flower lasted only 5 days...

Sorry for the late answer. Well this summer was really hot here in Lima, Peru so i use ice cubes at night . I grow it near 2 windows , get both sun from the morning and the afternoon. A good ventilation is important also.

How hot is "really hot"?

At day time30-32 celcius and 80-95% moisture thermic sensation of 35-40 celcius! At night 25 celcius more or less , so still hot for this plant

Eliseo, I have the same problem with EA. It's a
big, healthy, multi-growth plant and it will not
bloom. It gets a LOT of air movement and light, but my greenhouse temps. get up to 80F
in the summer and over 90% humidity. I am
disturbed about the non-blooming and really
don't know exactly what to do about it.

Nice shape and beautifully grown.
Congrats!

For how long have you been growing your plant?
I bought a multi-growths plant from Peruflora that had never bloomed and it took the plant two more years before it decided to throw multiple spikes at once. It took awhile but the show was worth the wait.
I get temp. as high as you in the summer. But in february I get lows of around 50F for a few weeks. Don't know if it matters though.

Update:D

Silvan, I've had it for about two years. Perhaps I'll have
to be more understanding and stop worrying. I think the 50s
low in winter does matter. Don on Gigha in Scotland keeps his
plant in the cooler part of his greenhouse and his blooms well.
I can't offer anything lower than 60F in winter and lots of air
movement.

That color is absolutely amazing. I love it!
