I'd like to list a few plants for sale on Ebay, as I have some overstock that needs to be sold to make room for newer stuff. I'm looking for a picture of the flower for Paph. Amarantine that I would be allowed to use for my ebay listing. My plants of this type are now blooming size, but have not flowered yet.

I realize a lot of people don't like their photos shared without consent, hence why I'm asking for help.

Thanks.

I'd be happy to, Todd. Looks like I'll be having a bunch of stuff going on Ebay, s I'll definately link here.

Just don't run screaming into the streets if my prices get high!

Good luck on ebay. I've had some poor results of late. A couple of other folks I've spoken to that sell plants on ebay say the same thing. The economy is effecting buying there too. Luckily, the bulk of my plants have gone to very nice people who wanted them, so that's fine. Hope you have better luck.

And I'm having at least one deadbeat bidder per series of auctions, too. Which means waiting 10 days to relist and having to file complaints with ebay. Fun, fun, fun!! I don't list a lot, but we have a company that sometimes has excess equipment etc. It's a bit disenchanting to go to all the work of listing, waiting and get deadbeats.

FWIW, when I don't have a bloom photo I just suggest a google. I wouldn't necessarily feel comfortable asking a commercial vendor to use one of his stock photos.

Why don't you list your plants for sale here first & donate an amount to Slippertalk instead?!

While I'd like to list the plants here, I really am hesitant due to several reasons:

1. This is our profession and we have been hit hard by the economy this summer. Plus, we have to pay for propane through the New Hampshire winter. This equates to the fact that we need as much $ from each sale. We'd rather not get a lot of flak from folks about our pricing.

2. Most of the plants we'll be selling, while very nice, are not particularly exciting for people here.

3. We've already made a donation, ask Heather if you wish, and really can't afford another this year.

Thats the honest truth of things. I hope everyone can understand our situation and realize there is no ill-will intended on our part.

BUT... I will list some interesting stuff here, today if you like, before it goes to Ebay.

No pressure intended :> I listed on ebay mainly because it's nice once in a while to have some savings in paypal to spend. You shouldn't feel like you have to justify anything to us and I sure hope the economy treats you better than me!

As for pricing, what you ask is your business. And as long as your not asking $3,000 for a maudiae hybrid I believe you'll fall under most peoples ebay radar. Good luck!

What Candace said. George actually donated to the forum about three seconds after he joined! :)

I didn't have great luck selling on ebay either but that was partly due to my not having any feedback. That definitely is also a factor to get past.

Good luck, G. I think your prices are in line (from the first two I looked at.)

Thanks. There really is nothing like opening a business that sells luxury items, which orchids are, right when the economy takes a down turn. Really!!! Everyone needs to try it! (sarcasm of course)

Thanks. Pricing is so hard, where I grew up the Bllra would have gone retail for $150. The market here can't bear that, so...

In reality, besides trying to pay for heating, I also need to make space for the NHOS Show stock that I'd like to bring for sale.

Does anyone ever feel like no matter how big the space is, there is never enough room for everything!!!!!

Sorry for rambling, I'm punchy today.
