Please accept with no obligation, implied or implicit, my best wishes for an environmentally conscious, socially responsible, low stress, non-addictive, gender neutral celebration of the holiday season, practiced within the most enjoyable traditions of the religious persuasion of your choice or secular practices of your choice with respect for the religious/secular persuasions and/or traditions of others, or their choice not to practice religious or secular traditions at all. I also wish you a fiscally successful, personally fulfilling, and medically uncomplicated recognition of the onset of the generally accepted calendar year 2009, but not without due respect for the calendars of choice of other cultures whose contributions to society have helped make Australia great (not to imply that Australia is necessarily greater than any other country nor the only "Australia" in the southern or northern hemisphere), and without regard to the race, creed, colour, age, physical ability, religious faith, or sexual preference of the wishee.

Please note: By accepting this greeting, you are accepting these terms: This greeting is subject to clarification or withdrawal. It is freely transferable with no alteration to the original greeting. It implies no promise by the wisher to actually implement any of the wishes for her/himself or others, is void where prohibited by law, and is revocable at the sole discretion of the wisher. This wish is warranted to perform as expected within the usual application of good tidings for a period of one year or until the issuance or revocation this and/or a subsequent holiday greeting.

Alternatively; Merry Xmas and Happy New Year.

That's very well written! :) It's quite complicated these days for sure!

I wish everyone good health, peace, and much joy in 2009 - and good growing and many blooms too! :D

...it's funny that I'd heard that the etymology of the word 'holiday' which is oft spread around as 'happy holidays' instead of the usual merry christmas, happy hanukkah and happy new year, actually translates to 'happy holy days' (hee hee) and most of the people that say it have no interest in holiness or wishing it upon others! (my incipient sarcasm sneaks out once in a while....) it is funny though,...... most people only have two real holy days, and they are the shopping days directly after thanksgiving and christmas! ;)
(I say this in good-natured fun and without rancor towards anyone! just my sense of humor)
