I did the air layering with Phrag. Peach Cobbler x Colossal Peach. Taking
NYEric's advice, I saw at least two or three 2" roots and a very small
baby forming on the side of the sphag. ball. I've now detached the
rootball and baby into a small plastic pot in the same NZ sphagnum I used
for the air layering. To my complete surprise, the baby (what might be the
correct term...offshoot?) is growing quite fast. However, I can see that
there are very small dark tips on the baby leaves. Could this be caused by
being too wet? I've not used any fertilizer. Sphag. packed too tight or
too loose? Any ideas? I don't want to lose this baby now.
