Photographed at Ecuagenera's main (cooler-growing) nursery in Gualaceo, Ecuador (near Cuenca).

Thanks for the photos. These are not easy to photograph so congrats on the good job! I quite like this one too... My other Restrepia are holding out in the heat quite nicely so I may just try more of these.

Thanks for looking!
Tyrone, you're absolutely right - they are an interesting challenge to photograph. I shot a dozen or so species at Ecuagenera. I really like Restrepias. I have two in my own collection, and I grow them in with my Cattleyas in a too-warm greenhouse. They seem to do just fine.

Really!? That much light!? Maybe I should move mine.

They do better in intermediate conditions and intermediate light. I grow mine warm because I don't have room in the terrarium. I grow them a little shaded by the catts - not ideal, but they manage to do all right. I think the saving grace for them is that I grow them in sphagnum and styrofoam in clay pots. The evaporation keeps the roots cool, even when the greenhouse is sweltering.
