Hmm.. I’m going to have to hunt for the picture. I’m not sure I posted it when it last bloomed. I recently repotted it, hoping to see a bloom this year.@PeteM I believe you have this division as well, does yours bloom with the same habit?
I'm guessing the reason this one has such a special lip, is because, unlike most of the other old whites, this one has Brassovola digbyana (Rhyncholaelia digbyana) in the background.I’m continually surprised how variable my cattleya flowerings can be year-to-year. The lip is outstanding, I’ve so far resisted adding this one to my list, but may have to reconsider, I love a lot of yellow on the lip. I believe it’s a relatively compact grower, and should be quite fragrant as well?
Yep! That answers the question of whether the yellow extending so far down in the lip is cultural. I think yours is the same plant as mine. Yours is also an orig. division from Waldor, right?
