This is the second blooming for this one. I got it from Orchids Limited as a baby in mid 2010. The cross is besseae 'Rick Hunter' x Memoria Dick Clements 'Red Wing'. I'm surprised at how much it has grown. It was also visited by a hummingbird while it was being photographed!

Wait a second, is this a different phrag with a hummingbird picture. I thought the other phrag was Fox Valley Fireball. I figured that was a one in a million shot.

...You're the one with the pet hummingbird aren't you!?! I saw you on YouTube! Ha ha ha

You really should consider yourself fortunate to have such an amazing photo op :)

Beautiful JF with nice colour

Yes the other was a Fireball. My wife feeds the hummers and has quite a large population during the summer. I've watched them in the yard and noticed they are very attracted to red flowers so if you have a red phrag in an area they frequent there's a pretty good chance you'll get a visitor if you wait long enough.

My wife does the same thing, feeding hummers. We have about 3 dozen at the moment as they ready themselves for the trip to Mexico. But at last, I have no red Phrags to temp them with.:(
