I took the time yesterday to assemble some baskets for my orchids: well you don't have to consider the time spent, otherwise those baskets are really expensive :) ! It took me 2 1/2 hours to cut the pine, drill holes and insert the wires!

Today they got populated: left my strongest vietn., middle a young roth., right a nice bella with 2 new growths, in the back a Stanhopea! Hope it works

Very neat job, jean. A little hint is to use eye-bolts all the way down
through the corners and put a washer and a screw to hold the slats together from the bottom. The advantage is that you can undo the whole thing
and get the plant out without too much root damage...also you can clean
the basket slats of old plant material much easier. I try to use western
cedar if I can find it.

Thanks! Pine is easier to handle whereas cedar or beech would last longer!! But I am not looking for the very long term :) ! I have quite some pine baskets that last since 5-7 years now!
Angela thanks for the idea! I can undo the wire here as well because it is solid but just recurved at its end, with the advantage that I can easily fix some hanging wires at those places!

Excellent work Jean!!!

How did you fix the 3 bottom sticks in place? Nails?
