I love this kind of flowers.

The first one is my first paphiopedilum bought year ago, divided and given away as gifts. A good grower and frequent bloomer.
Paph. Hsinying Spring Green (Hsinying Citron X lawrenceanum)

This next one is Hilo Citron. I see many great flowers from this hybrid.
This particular one is super slow grower, but I like it anyways.

Next Two are Hilo Key Lime. I have a few and flowers are all huge!!!

Oops, I forgot about the red one. here it is!

Hilo Ruby X Hsinying Glory

Another hybrid that I love!!!! so many nice flowers out of this cross.
Downside is, this cross gives me the biggest headache.
Plants do not grow after initial flowering or easily attacked by leaf rotting disease. Hence, I keep buying everytime I see one (or more :D ) for sale.

Wonderful flowers, but I particularly like the Paph. Hsinying Spring Green and the first Paph. Hilo Key Lime. :smitten:

Love them all. Have to add some to my collection. May be I'm not the parvi, brachy person I thought I was. : )
No reason to discriminate against certain groups of Paphs; there always room for one or two of them after all.

Wait, what? Is someone shouting "Hypocrite!" or am I just hearing things?

Very nice bunch!

I agree with you. Some of the newer Maudiae type crosses from Taiwan appear to be susceptible to disease, particularly the Maudiae vini and Maudiae vini x fairrieanum type crosses.

the 'albas' are very nice.
The large ventrals on some of these coloratum maudiaes looks out of place, too me

It was rather interesting to me as well.
When the bud was opening, it looked like the entire bud was covered with that large ventral and I was a bit worried how the flower might turn out.
I like the balanced appearance and the color though. It's something that I had to get used to. :)

I have another one of the same cross that has this large ventral issue. The color is not to my liking although they both look nearly identical.

Man, I sound picky! :D

I started out with maudiae type hybrids and complex bulldog paphs all the while picking up other novelty hybrids and handful of species (not a big fan).

I was so repelled by the huge pouch of parvis, but loved the leaves.
Well, now I am loaded with them! :rollhappy:

I do have a few brachy's but not in love with them.
Some multis attract me but many are just too big and I have no space for them.

Very nice bunch!

Certain vini (of this same cross that I posted a picture of) seems to be very prone to rot unfortunately.
My experience with vini X fairy has been pretty good.
My favorite one has not yet rebloomed but slowly growing.
In general, I find hybrids involving maudiae mixed with fairy do very well.
They grow like weeds! I donated some to my society fundraising.
