I did put this in the wrong spot, oops, well anyways, I hope our texans are doing ok, prairs go out towards them

Thanks for everyone's concerns. We made it out the other side of Harvey a little damp but otherwise safe and unharmed.
Spent the last 8 days drying the house out from minor flooding. We bywhere very lucky compared to a vast majority of folks. Just one mile away near Clear Creek in our sister city of Friendswood the water was to their roof lines. I saw a stat claiming enough water fell over south Texas in 5 days to fill the 5 great Lakes twice!
In the Pearland area we topped out at 51 inches, one of a few records. On Saturday night the rain fell at a record 9.5 inches in two hours. That's when the water came in through the weep holes of the house. The center of the house never got wet only the premenider. Our biggest lose was bedroom furniture and a China cabinet soaking up water.
I bought a moisture meter to determine where, if any water was in the walls. After cutting the sheetrock to begin drying out I found most of the wall insulation wasn't wet. Very lucky.

About 8 inches of water in the greenhouse. 8f27edcdbafdeda935ae9b9c6c6813b4.jpg

I'm glad you made it through ok, what a terror of a storm!! It's gonna take at least a year to rebuild everything

Good to hear from you, Rick. Thanks for letting us know you are OK. Best of luck to you and all in Texas in your recovery.

Good to hear from you rick, a friend at church has nephew in Houston area and their church had four feet of water inside. It was estimated that they had removed about 20 tons of everything that was inside and water damaged. One 75 yr old gentleman with dementia had four feet in house, it's completely destroyed and he has no insurance. A lot of damage and many with no resources. But if they are alive, then they hopefully can find helping hands to continue somehow
