Just getting ready to pop. Got this last year off ebay as a large seedling which originally came from Quintal. Crazy dark purple so far, hope it stays that way. Like every viet I've ever bloomed, it has two buds on the stem.

We are at the "Point straight down until the last possible second" stage.

Here she be. Not a particularly large flower, just a beautiful one. NS 10cm, petal width 4.2cm, dorsal width 3.5cm, synsepal width 3.9cm. Petal color does get gradually darker towards the tips; it's not a trick of light & shadow.

Is it blooming? Last time we tried this with thaianum, it didn't work very well lol.
