Hello.
I have grown orchids since the 1980s. I currently grow in West Texas. Orchids in my collection are Phragmipediums, Catesetums, Cattleya, onicidiums, cymbidiums, vanda, . I stay with orchids that can grow warm hot. We have many days here that average 101 degrees by the late afternoon.Six months are mild with a few really cold days and six months that quickly build to hot. We also have lots of wind. Spring time is hail season. The challenge is the hail and heat. I bring a few orchids inside under led lights. The rest are in a poly tunnel greenhouse that is converted to a shade house in the summer. In the summer Cattleya, Catesetums hang out hanging under a large oak tree.
