    Whole sale Paphs?

If you're looking for complex paphs, I am pretty sure that at least two of the vendors mentioned earlier in this thread obtain some of their complex paph inventory from Theresa Hill at Hillsview Gardens. Maybe contact her directly for wholesale pricing. She has other things too, but when it...

    Paph Primechild

That sounds typical. I find that Paph. Prime Child will sunburn before almost any other paph on the bench, but it recovers quickly. It is a very reliable bloomer and, as your photo illustrates, produces wonderful flowers.

    Moving into an old greenhouse!

Great photos, Chris. You have really put your heart into making a wonderful environment for your orchids. Oh, and thanks for the memories - I don't think I have seen that much open bench space between plants since the Nixon administration. While scanning the album thumbnails I saw the...

Growers: How Are you Dealing With the Heat?

It is nearly 2:00pm and a scorching 64F outside my greenhouse here in the Puget Sound area. According to a local TV station's website KOMOTV.com, Seattle has only experienced temperatures in excess of 80F for 78 minutes in all of 2011. I am NOT complaining.

    Paph Nathaniel's Pride

Paphiopedilum Nathaniel's Pride = Paphiopedilum (philippinense x hangianum)

    Phrag **** Clements x kovachii

I'd be so proud of that plant, the flower would almost be secondary! (almost)

    Kroger Phals as requested

Beware, the Dark Side of the Force, Bob. It will have you in its clutches before you can say, "No More Space!"

    moquetteanum x anitum

I'm starting to think Paph. anitum is incapable of producing a bad hybrid.

    Shreveport/AOS Spring 2011 Show

Thank you for sharing all the photos, Diane - and you are too modest - they are NOT bad! It was a very nice show - somewhat dwarfed by the size of the facility. The Shreveport Orchid Society did a great job putting on the event. The show is only a small portion of all the work they do to...

    Paph. Temptation Specimen Plant

I think it eventually comes down to that for all of us.

    Norman's Orchids

I have ordered from Norman's Orchids at least 10-12 times over the years and I have absolutely no complaints. My last shipment was only a couple weeks ago. Norman called me personally to let me know that he was holding the order an extra day to let some of the plants dry out a bit, and...

    Masd. Tangerine Dragon

Oh, not only is it REALLY, REALLY orange!, the interior of the flower is quite hirsute - and there is the most magnificent magenta "glow" that shimmers and changes shape from the inside right out to the edge of the flower as the viewing angle over these brilliant magenta "hairs" changes. I'm...

    Masd. Tangerine Dragon

One of my Masd. Tangerine Dragon (Masd. mendozae x Masd. veitchiana) happened to be in bloom today. Apologies for the hideous cell phone photo.

    Incredible Masdevallia ignea flowers!

I got to see these in real life today and, well - a lot of you know how it goes... some of them followed me home. Hard to believe, but they don't even require batteries to glow like that.

    Paph Angel Hair

That's amazing. I would never have guessed that flower was from the same plant you showed us in September.

    Help! Noid

Oddly enough, Orchidwiz actually lists a Paph. Sugar Sweet. Clicking on the long format button to the right of the parentage window produces a different result every time. Strange. I would post a screen capture here but I am terrified of copyright violation repercussions.

    Help! Noid

That's hilarious, Dot. I can't believe we all went so far into this thread with "Suite". It's Ernie's fault, you know.

    13th National Slipper Symposium

Next year we will indeed be back in Orlando. We are still working on the exact date but it will probably be a couple weeks earlier than normal and happen in October. It is important to avoid a scheduling conflict with the 20th World Orchid Conference which will be held November 13-20 in...

    Help! Noid

Ok that's it - you guys are right. I'm not posting before noon anymore in order to give the morning caffeine time to kick in. I remember now that someone did say it was Paph. Sugar Suite while remarking how much the yellow pouch and staminode reminded them of Paph. armeniacum, and that's...
