    My monster kolopakingii var. topperi

I think it is extremely difficult for a cultivated kolopakingii to produce more than 10 flowers per spike. It is not impossible but extremely difficult to achieve. I think 8-9 flowers per spike is the maximum count for my clone as you can see it is already a well matured plant that growing...

What is your favorite orchid? Lets have some fun

Paph. gigantifolium and stonei are the two most favorite Paphiopedilum for me. The former one can produce up to 10 cute yellowish flowers on a fully matured plant with huge dark green and spoon head leave; while the later one can produce up to 5 lovely flowers on a single spike with twisty...

    New Book about Paphiopedilum

Pictures are always attractive, but it would be even more attractive if it has a version that most people in global understand what the book is saying and describing, at least to me!

    My monster kolopakingii var. topperi

No steroids. I just place lots of solid fertilizer sticks originated from US on the top of the growing media and that is.

    My monster kolopakingii var. topperi

Thanks for the encouragement! It is one of the first ever Paph species I acquired from the very beginning when I enter into the paph’s world, and it’s the only one that I have been preserving until now. (Others either go to haven or sold to others) I have located the photo of the plant when I...

    My monster kolopakingii var. topperi

After one decade, I can finally successful to raise this tree from one growth to a big monster clump and it produces a total of 23 flowers to me this year. 8 flowers for 2 spikes each and 7 flowers for the remaining spike. I wonder whether I can get a CCE on this plant under such condition. 😆

    Paph. haynaldianum var. laurae?

It just opens today. Not a typical haynaldianum obviously but also unlike a laurae.

    Paph. haynaldianum var. laurae?

I bought this plant 3 years ago from Wanchao Orchid nursery Taiwan and Mr. Chan said that it is a selfing of a forest plant many years ago. It is the second time for flowering in front of me. I doubt it is an ordinary haynaldianum but when I compare with the photo labeled as laurae variation...

Paph. kolopakingii var. topperi - A monster plant

After trial and error, my topperi, which has been growing for 9 years from one flowering growth, finally adapts the new environment of my greenhouse and starts to grow vigorously. The tip of the old leaves has a bit burnt due to strong sunlight given before. However, after putting it under...

    My Paphiopedilum gigantifolium

Thanks for the inputs.:) From my growing experience, gigantifolium tends to like bigger pot as it likes wet very much. Also, bigger pot allows more roots can be grown for the plant that allows it to absorb more water and eat more fertilizers. Low light is essential to grow it well as I have...

    My Paphiopedilum gigantifolium

Any flowering gigantifolium is nice. :) However, based on the leaves color and flower count, I guess either you did not feed it enough or the air humidity is too low for it or you grew it too bright. A healthy gigantifolium should be in dark green leaves and could produce 5 or more flower per...
