    Paph. superbiens fma. sanderae

I got this as a superbiens division from a plant that has been in collection for decades at a Belgian nursery. My feeling says it is an "original type" superbiens fma. sanderae, but I know the challenges within the "superbiens complex": Paph. superbiens var. curtisii fma. sanderae? / Paph...

    Orchids 2023

I had a slightly different view on peloric... I more agree with Justin's usage. (ref. wikipedia and many others sources) Pelorism is the term, said to be first used by Charles Darwin, for the formation of 'peloric flowers' which botanically is the abnormal production of radially symmetrical...

EDIT As the name is now guessed, I updated the title: Paph. Charlie O'Neill EDIT I know some of you like to guess... I will update the posting's title when it is fully opened A hint: If the tag is correct, it's a primary cross between two albinos :)

    Hello from DirGo in Belgium

Hi Rudolf, thank you for your - as always - nice words. I know my essays are only touching some topics very high level, even could contain some errors as I am only a simple amateur, but I really hope that they can inspire others to give more color to their hobby. And hopefully I will get...

    Hello from DirGo in Belgium

Thank you very much for reading AND for your appreciated comment Ray. Very interesting addition. I always thought the pH/availability dynamics would remain revelant, even without considering soil type, like for example in hydroponics systems or in - as you said - almost "low sites" orchids media.

Dehydrated near rootless P sanderianum seedling

A lot of advice has already been given here, but there is one aspect I am missing a bit: fix the plant in his pot with 4 stakes, two at each side of the plant, to make sure there is no wiggling of the plant to avoid any fresh weak roots being damaged. Specially if a plant is using his very last...

    Paph Lady Isobel

The plant suffered from a heavy persistent mytes infection and I was about to get rid of it when I saw a flower emerging. I am very happy I granted it more time to show it's first flower. I like it has so much of the stonei genes. I already cut the flower to let all energy go the new fan...

Absolutely not! I clearly started my post on "chaff" buyers by saying "I love the way you reacted to the 'mistaken identitity' situation."
