Paph Hilo Black Eagle 'Dolly Dagger ' AM

Better separation of the flowers and the petals appear to be more horizontal. The flower count is the same, 4.

    Orchids 2023

Justin I also use my phone for pictures and upload directly to my post. Then I'm given the choice of thumbnail or full image. I never need or use an outside image app anymore. Is there a reason to use Postimage?

    Paph haynaldianum 'Rick's Best' AM/AOS

Thank you everyone. I agree David, what the second open spike would of added is not understood. Psychological candy adding to the judges WOW factor about all I can think of. Which as you mentioned has nothing to do with flower quality. I was surprised to see the second spike myself which...

Paphiopedilum richardianum 'MS Big Boy' HCC

    Paph haynaldianum 'Rick's Best' AM/AOS

A week ago yesterday 3/3 my haynaldianum received a 85pt AM. The judges commented if the second spike had been open it would of scored higher. They repeatedly kept calling this plant a monster. LOL No awarded shots yet, you will just have to put up with mine 😁 ( the first flower has already...

    Paph amabile 'Charles' AM xself

My comments posted above in #14 were based on a picture in Burke's book that turns out to be misleading Now thumbing through Burke's 2nd edition he drops the concept of amabile all together and calls the plant I have robinsonii (he had robinsonii in 1st ed as well). bullenianum is still...

    Paph amabile 'Charles' AM xself

That looks like a beautiful example of a bullenianum. Your petals aren't as twisted as Burke's pictured example

Paph parishii (could this be a starting of a spike)

Amazon. Same for the 6" std deep pots

Paph parishii (could this be a starting of a spike)

To stress my point, here is a second parishii. I also find they are very stingy with their roots production as well. Any root rot issues you can be in trouble quickly. This one hasn't bloomed yet.

Paph parishii (could this be a starting of a spike)

This is probably better suited for the paph culture section then here but I feel the need to post it. I find parishii to be one of multis that is prone to rot. The way I got around is the double pot method. See pics. The other side I use large Orchiata and super large sponge rock. I...

Paph delenatii 'White Rabbit ' AM

It is fragrant early in the morning before the sun is up. The Houston show is this weekend and I have it in my display. I must say, "It looks damn good"

    Paph amabile 'Charles' AM xself

Ok, so I looked up the flower and minimal description in Burke's first edition. It fits perfectly with his flower picture and non existence description for amabile. He clearly is a splitter and the book is 30+ years old. He claims the species was found on one mountain top but predicted it would...
