    Irapeanum update

Oh no, sad to hear that it is dead. No new growth coming from the bottom up? I think it is safer to keep them wet after this experience. Altough my plant survived, it would be advantagous for the plant to have both growths alive at the same time I think. Btw: I sowed Cypripedium dickinsonianum...

    Newly acquired Paph. sanderianum

Yes, if the ovary is white (sometimes with red hair for sandie), you can be sure that the plant is a straight sanderianum. With one exception: if you cross it with gigantifolium it will stay white, but there is no doubt that anyone will notice a gig in a hybrid :) I'd say that yours is a true...

    Irapeanum update

Kept it drier and colder (15°C) for a month. Now the old growth has withered and a new starter growth starts growing. And I opened the container three months ago. No rot yet. It seems that those irapeanums are more forgiving than I thought.

    Paph. sanderianum growing tips invited

Hi, I bought my first sanderianum at the age of 14 and I still have that plant. So I have 8 years experience growing sandies. I am currently rising some dozen young plants from flask with a loss of about 5-10%. One thing I noticed is that some of the plants are faster growing than others. I have...

    Measurements when posting pictures

I definitely agree. For some species like roths it is very common to include dorsal size and spread. For others like sandies the petal length is worth mentioning (for newer clones also the DS). But I am not sure if these measurements are important for gigantifolium for example since this species...

    Phrag shipped - below freezing

I was worried in the past too when I got orders in mid-december. The temps were under the freezing point both times. No heatpack, but in styrofoam and the plants didn't take any damage.

Oh, well, I mean no children :D

    New gigantifoliums

Yes, that's true. But I am still young and have no family, no house whatsoever. There will be a space problem soon, but in one year I move into a new home and plan to rent new rooms for motherplants and lab.

    New gigantifoliums

Yes, Li. I want to make seedlings with those motherplants.
