    Paph concolor alba

Nice one! Maybe more often than every three years, but there is some weirdness in that group of species that seems very sensitive to some sort of environmental trigger. Not sure what. Sometimes I'll get two flowerings per year, sometimes none. Not changing anything in my control... Very...

    For Sale Housekeeping

If you are interested in other kinds of plants (neofinetia, pleurothallids, small species) consider combining trips and visiting New World Orchids (not particularly close to me but a lot closer if you are coming all the way to Michigan).

    Phrag besseae 'Mega' x self

Worth doing again... Never enough besseae.

Phrag. besseae flavum ‘Broadwaters’ x self

Or use one of those sphagnum wrapped totem poles.

Phrag. besseae flavum ‘Broadwaters’ x self

They have a mind of their own on blooming... Put a little loose sphagnum under the roving growths, it will encourage rooting. If it were me, I wouldn't repot besseae in the summer. I've lost more to heat than anything else. I'll probably rework my big plants in September or so. I don't have...

Probably but I haven't gotten to that shelf yet... Even though I have a bunch of plants outside I don't have enough space to sort. Which means I need to move some to find the rest!

    For Sale Housekeeping

I'm in the midst of sorting phrags into two piles - keep and re-home. Some of them are quite large... I have absolutely no urge to ship most of this. Anybody interested in a road trip to Michigan? Will make it worth your while.... :) Still sorting, will eventually have a list of plants I'm...

    When to fertilize after deflask

Not sure why you would stop... They are getting fertilizer in flask. I don't ever use a lot of fertilizer all at once, pretty much constant low amount every time I water.

    Paphiopedilum Fajen’s Fiesta

Maybe on an old plant... I don't have any old enough yet. Unfortunately 'sequentialness' doesn't pass to hybrids well.

    80 days of growth

You can come see my set up any time... Will be putting them outside in the next couple weeks.

    Sometimes they don't work out.

This one is too messed up for me to keep... I'm sure it could bloom well a second time, but need space more than blooms.

    Sometimes they don't work out.

Bingo! It will go out to the compost pile soon.

Sold My Paph tigrinum with 2 spikes for your BS sanderianum from Orchid Inn

I was contacted by dozens of people hoping to get Sam's big plants... I didn't have them either. Did sell some of the last flasks he had made. I thought about keeping them all to myself but I know that I kill more than my share of these. Kept a couple flasks but if history serves I'll get...

    Sometimes they don't work out.

There was a thread a few weeks ago about how hard intersectional hybrids are. This cross can be spectacular, but this is the reason to pay more for one in bloom... Guess the cross?

    Rosalie Dixler x fisheri

I couldn't find this registered. Has a fox valley tag, but I don't remember buying it. More than a few years. Someone check my work. If it is unregistered we can turn it into a fundraiser for the forum.

Too much light for newer phrag growths?

Maybe... If you are using a complete fertilizer (with micronutrients), check your pH. If my plant looked like that I would not be concerned. It is fine.

    Protected by moss

Interesting, but I don't think there is enough information in that paper to conclude that _all_ species of moss are antimicrobial. In the vast world of evolution, I'd be very careful to say all of anything does anything... But, I agree for the most part. That moss is a sign of good water. Be...

Sold My Paph tigrinum with 2 spikes for your BS sanderianum from Orchid Inn

Seems like a fair trade to me... I already have both, though. :) But not like that. That tigrinum is worth _a lot_ to somebody. I wouldn't feel right taking it for a sanderianum. I want the pollen if you bloom it before you trade it. Don't even care what the flower looks like, I need...
