    C. walkeriana - Two Leaf Growths this Year

That's interesting Paphman. I remain unconvinced. I trust the genetic sequencing as far as I can throw it. A few year back Xavier gave us some examples of supposed DNA relations between certain Paph species which were beyond ridiculous.!

So does this mean that my ''superbiens'' alba is probably curtisii as well? It will flower soon I think.

    Kocide instead of Phyton?

I read an interesting article in an AU orchid mag where a chemist did experiments on reducing the toxicity of copper sprays by mixing it with lime. If I remember correctly ,he also did trial with dendrobium and found no toxicity problems when used this way. He advised not to let it drip onto the...

    superbiens

I think it's a pretty nice one. Plant looks miserable because it suffered many indignities last summer. I selfed this one even though it might weaken or even kill the plant!...

    2 Soph wittigianas

I bought it as a cernua seedling. No idea of the history of it. Strangely, it often has 2 flowers per growth.

Cattleya f.k.a. walkeriana fma. alba 'Pendentive' AM/AOS

No pretty much the same. The annoying thing about them is the way they walk out of the pot so quickly. The best way is probably a large vertically hung log and mount them right at the bottom. Other than that, walkeriana is such a great plant.

Cattleya f.k.a. walkeriana fma. alba 'Pendentive' AM/AOS

I crossed Pendentive with walk coerulea a few years back. This was the result....

Cattleya f.k.a. walkeriana fma. alba 'Pendentive' AM/AOS

Yes I think so. And I'm pretty sure I read Orchidglade was collected from the wild. Which makes Pendentive pretty much a natural plant as well. There has been some work done but nothing concrete yet. Selfings of Pendentive don't seem to show much variation. I wonder if Orchidglade was a...

How serious is finding tiny snails in your plants?

They like to come out when it's very humid or after heavy watering. They love to eat root tips. I used to be able to get ''snaileen'' liquid but that was banned. Last time I had a problem with these I crushed half a handful of pellets (metaldehyde) in a mortar and pestle. (don't use in your...

Therapeutic gardening in the time of corona

Thanks. Kanuma is too expensive here and I can't get pumic easily. I'll have to improvise. I have the dwarf Kodaruma and I think I still have a zuikonishiki alive..

Therapeutic gardening in the time of corona

Very nice job with the armeniacum! And nice vigorous plant too. I notice a variegated Raphis on the side there? I struggle with mine. What medium do you grow it in and how do you fertilize? - if you don't mind me asking....

Therapeutic gardening in the time of corona

I have just put in a couple of Cyathea australis in the garden. They are a bit more sun hardy. The Dicksonias are so common and cheap here I never really thought about it. There is a bloke down the road from me who brings them in from Tasmania. They saw then off at the base and you just dig a...

I keep it in the shade house in summer and we get cool sea breezes almost every night here.

Speaking of D. antarctica, Here is my bonsai version...It's been in the pot for about 10 years. Root pruned every year.
