    Paph Jade Dragon

I was walking through the greenhouse this morning and realized I had not taken a picture of this guy. I couldn't remember if it was normally this yellow or if the flower was just fading, so I pulled up a couple of previous photos of the same flower. Today's picture Pictures from a...

    Paph Oto 'Deerwood' AM/AOS

No, I bought a half dozen or so small seedlings from Oak Hill a few years back, before they sold out. A year or two earlier, Arnold Klehm had been offering flasks for sale. While I can't be certain, my best guess is that the cross was remade by Arnold.

    A few paph species

    Love the Paph appletonianum!

    Paph malipoense

Here's the second bloom of one of my malipoense. Am tempted to use the clonal name 'Dunce Cap', but in this era of political correctness, "pitchfork nation" would probably drive me off the internet. :p

    Just another Paph. rothschildianum

    Good for a first bloom.

    Well grown plant!

    Paphiopedilum rothschildianum "Spitfire"

It is very elegant and every roth is impressive in its own right. Any roth that blooms reliably is a keeper!

    Paph Huddle 'Joan' AM/AOS

LOL! I've always wanted to ask you: Now that you're relatively close by, would you like to come by for a visit?

    Paph Huddle 'Joan' AM/AOS

In case anyone's wondering why I'm finally posting after such a long absence, I'm at home for two weeks by doctor's orders after having minor surgery. Lots of time to take and post pictures, and repot, repot, repot, repot,.......... Paph Huddle (Hellas X F.C. Puddle) was registered in 1963...

Paph rothschildianum ([Mont Milais x self] x Sabah

Bought it from Paul Phillips of Ratcliffe Orchids when they were still in Kissimmee. He came to talk at the Orchid Society of Minnesota around 2000 or 2001 and I bought this plant as a small seedling in a 2 1/2 inch pot. It grew slowly in the house until 2010, when it moved to our newly built...

    Paph Via Oro 'Val' HCC/AOS

Paph Via Oro was registered in 1974 and 'Val' was awarded in 1976. While it may not measure up to the current generation of complex yellows, it's still a very pleasing flower.

Paph rothschildianum ([Mont Milais x self] x Sabah

Thank you for the nice comments! Now, for a question: Is this plant worth breeding with to create more roths, or has current breeding already passed this plant by in terms of size and quickness of blooming?

Paph rothschildianum ([Mont Milais x self] x Sabah

Two years ago, I think. The third growth is also showing a sheath.

    Paph Manayunk

Thanks for the kind comments. Any other opinions on which flower to use as the pollen parent?

Paph rothschildianum ([Mont Milais x self] x Sabah

Bought this as a seedling from Ratcliffe Orchids about fifteen years ago. This is its second blooming. Approximate measurements: NS: 28cm., DW: 5.6cm.

    Paph Manayunk

I'm leaning toward Paph Mary's Little Leopard '#2' or Paph (William Stirling X Garibaldi)

    Paph Manayunk

You're right, Ray. In addition to Tribe names and place names, he also used individual's names.

    Paph. Doll's Kobold
