    Phrag. besseae f. flavum

Yeah, it seems like they are getting a little harder to find. I am hoping my next one will have a little larger bloom. This one was around 7cm.

    Wanted: Phrag. hartwegii

I will do that, thanks for reminding me. Ha, already have 6 different clones, too many?

    Phragmipedium Ivan Portilla (??)

Is the Ivan Portilla a larger bloom?

    Phragmipedium Ivan Portilla (??)

I think you may be correct, I think Phrag. Ivan Portilla should look similar to a Fritz Schomburg.

    Phragmipedium Memoria Mariza Rolando

That's going to be a stunner with that coloration. How's inside the pouch look?

    Soaking before fertilizing?

I can only echo the sentiments above for my Phragmipediums. Growing indoors, I am watering daily for almost all my phrags and add fertilizer aside from a monthly flush. My daily regimen is 25ppm K-Lite, 200ppm Green Jungle and bi-weekly application of KelpMax 1 tablespoon per gallon. Once a...

    No roots, No Problem?

Algae is nothing I am concerned with one bit since it is going to be covered by moss eventually. That and I only have one clear pot in use. There's a bunch of stuff on ST about live moss. I believe Lance Birk was talking about the benefits of live moss in the 1970s. Some benefits are production...

    No roots, No Problem?

Interesting, I wonder if moss is more prone to grow on bark or rockwool. I am also inoculating with moss slurry on some pots as a test. My goal is 100% moss coverage.

    Phragmipedium cabrejosii

I think we still have to wait for these to reach our shores:(

    No roots, No Problem?

I am using just straight grodan, something like perlite can get into the spaces and block air flow. I pull dry from the bag in a well ventilated area. Put a layer on the bottom, place my plant to desired height and fill in the space as you normally would (pic #1). There is a slight drop in...

    Cicadas a threat to orchids?

Finally mainstream media is focusing on the real issues. What do we want? Orchids! What do we need? Orchids!

    No roots, No Problem?

I spent a really hot weekend in Baltimore years ago. We have short nose breed dogs, so can never get too hot here. Are you using some box fans to blow out the hot air through the open windows? Still working on my lighting but I am running about 12-14 hours a day.

    No roots, No Problem?

Everything that follows has the caveat of my collection is approaching 100 phrags. I am trying to streamline the process since I am watering daily for most of my plants. I need to get an RO system from Ray at some point since I am needing over 8 liters of water a day. I am not overly concerned...

I got it from James Fang and he said he got it from OZ.

    Phrag. schlimii var. manzurii
