    2009 ST Fund Auction

I think that sound like a really sensible plan. I think 7 days for bidding, just in case 'life' intervenes and someone isn't around just in time... I have a plant or two that I can donate for those on 'this side of the pond'. I'll have a look at the next watering and let you know.

    Paphs and Phrags, so far...

Time for another update!! New plants are in bold My prized new update is vietnamense alba. It was at the Bournmouth Orchid Society 50th Anniversary sale. I was there early on Saturday judging, and couldn't pass this up for the price... much less than I have seen it for elsewhere...

    Paph. Pinochio album.

I am always confused about these plants... primulinum, Pinocchio and Avalon Mist all seem to overlap! Is there a reliable way to distinguish between them? Compare Jim's Pinocchio with Eric's Avalon Mist: http://www.slippertalk.com/forum/showthread.php?t=10897 Then compare those with...

    Paph Pinnochio x primulinum

I like a 'cloud of paphs' - really conveys a nice mental image! PS. a flush of plumbers is too perfect a description ;)

Lost tag - in spike - any ideas?

Rick, I'm interested as well in what you see that tips you off to that particular parent. Given the size, I would be inclined to agree with you, too. Mark, I can't wait until this one opens! As you will have your's in flower too, we can compare. Do you have any photos from a previous blooming?

    Paph Christiana Richards

Glad you brought some of them back to the UK! I hope that my Christiana Richards (Conco-bellatulum ‘Butterball’ x malipoense ‘Legionnaire’) turns out as nice as this one! ;)

    Paph Pinnochio x primulinum

:) But I can just imagine a 'brace of Brassia' or a 'gang of Gongora'.... I know, I'm odd. :rollhappy:

    Paph Pinnochio x primulinum

'A Plate of Pleurothallids' ... sounds like a great new collective noun! They have herd of cattle, tower of giraffes, array of hedgehogs, etc. (see: http://users.tinyonline.co.uk/gswithenbank/collnoun.htm for more really good ones!) Any suggestions for Paphs?:rollhappy:

    The person below me game......

Have already done! First time I was able to come home from an orchid society meeting with LESS plants than what I took with me! TPBM is looking forward to a nice curry for lunch!

    new Phrag & friend

Nice new additions! That's a lovely Phrag, no matter what the name. And those are some great Pleuros that you picked! Congrats!

    Paphiopedilum appletonianum

Fantastic photo! Great growing! This is a nice species - the leaves are super when grown in lower light - they get that silvery sheen to them.
