    Variation, Forma and ???

Bitte bitte lauf lauf!!! I love that movie (Lola Rennt/Run Lola Run for those who have no idea what we're talking about). The quote translates approximately to "uncountable questions, that people are trying to answer. But in the end, it's all the same questions, and the same answers. The...

I just ordered my first slipper...

Yay! It arrived. Nice and huge and healthy, hopefully it will bloom at the next season. 2 big growths. It's in coarse bark mix for now, I'm contemplating s/h, cuz I like it for my other plants. For my other plants, I use MSU @ 125 ppm N, would this work for my new baby?

    Hello .

I disagree. That garden is completely beyond help. You should give it away immediately. I will be more than willing to assist in the "disposal" of all your substandard plants. :rollhappy: :D :rollhappy: Actually, I think it looks great! I wish I had a space like that.

    Evidence

My fuschia is growing just fine...low/medium light, water every other day, relatively cool. Of course, it drops old leaves/blooms all over the bedroom, but that's nothing a little dustbusting can't solve.

    Clear pots can be bad

would it be possible to just cut a hole in the side of the pot with a utility knife? then your stolon could get out and say hi, and you wouldn't need to use a basket. I have no idea how this would work in reality, but in my head it seems like a great idea.

    on the "other board"

Tadd and Heather were the sort-of winners. I ended up getting a Vandofinetia Blaupunkt, which nobody suggested, but I liked it more than any of the suggestions. Since they suggested one of the parents of the hybrid, and their suggestions were what got me thinking of the blaupunkt, they still...

    Never again Norman's orchids!

Both Oakhill and Orchids by Hauserman have high quality plants including various oncidium intergenerics. I've bought in person from both of them, but I've never had anything shipped so I can't speak to how well things travel.

    Media for Paphiopedilum

I have a question regarding the posts above: If fertilizer cannot be absorbed through the velamen, then how does the plant absorb nutrients at all? To me it would seem that the roots must be permeable to ions or else they would never be able to absorb anything but water from thier...
