A couple of different rubra clones. On the left is a seedling from a dark cross made by Orchid Limited a few years ago. Probably it’s best flowering yet. There is even a flammea mark on the petals. On the right is ‘sarita’, not a great flowering as it was repotted a few months ago. Sarita has a noticeably nicer and stronger scent.
This species has settled down into a six month growth cycle in the growth room, although usually the winter growth is the only one that flowers.

William, they tend to be quite rare. Orquiverde probably has some.

No worries. These are typical for this species, especially the darker coloured forms. They fade away with time. By year three they have disappeared.

It’s almost the smallest unifoliate. The pseudobulbs are quite slender. Perfect for those cramped for space, but the flowers are quite big.
