This is coelogyne Mem. Willem Micholitz, a primary cross between mooreana and lawrenceana. The flowers take more after mooreana, opening cream and fading to white with a lovely scent.
I was warned when I bought it that it was a rampant grower and this has proved to be true. This plant is well over 60cm wide with at least 25 leads, all with flower buds.
It spends the summer outside in dappled shade and the winter in front of a floor to ceiling window in the bedroom were it likes it damp at all times.
It’s just as likely to send a lead out from an older bulb as a lead bulb.
I’ll probably repot it later in the year and try for an even bigger plant next year but it’s getting to a size where it’s tough to carry.
